bridesmaids trends you want in your wedding party
Twenty years ago, a bridesmaid may have been photographed in a hideous, puffy sleeved gown so that they wouldn’t take attention away from the bride. However, in modern weddings it seems that more brides realize their bridesmaids are actually a reflection of their fashion sense and style, and that their dresses need to be trendy and beautiful.
That being said there are certainly some modern trends that not only add a touch of personalized attention to bridesmaid fashions, but can set your entire wedding party apart from any other.
v Flats are In!- Especially if you are planning on getting married outdoors or are looking for a fun summer feeling to your wedding theme, then flats are certainly in. Remember that they don’t necessarily have to be plain either! You can add an accenting flower, a little bit of shimmer or make pop by making them a color other than that of your dress.
v Neutral Tones are Hot!- While you might be thinking that you want your wedding party to stand out with bright colors, you can certainly jazz up a neutral color in fun ways. Add a belt of a different color, shoes that stand out, flowers in their hair of a bright color. While the dress can be classily sleek it doesn’t mean that you still can’t make your bridesmaids stand out.
v Where Does it Say They Have to Dress the Same?!- Where is the unwritten rule stating that your bridesmaids have to be in the same dress? This rule doesn’t exist! You can dress your bridesmaids in every color and style of dress that you want in fact. But, to provide some uniformity to the wedding party you can choose styles that are similar and vary the colors slightly or add different accents to each one.
v Separates, separates, separates!- While we have become accustomed to the idea that a bridesmaid dress is what our girlfriends need to walk down the aisle with, more and more designers are creating separates that are elegant and can be mixed and matched easily.
Remember that your bridesmaid outfits are a reflection of your style and fashion sense, however it is still your wedding. You can choose to add touches of your personal style throughout your wedding party, but adding some of these trendy and modern styles will certainly speak highly of your flare for fashion.
